West Valley Alpacas in Esparto is owned by Pat Meade and Jon Robbins.  It started in 1993 when we wanted to raise fiber animals for spinning and weaving.  We had considered sheep and llamas, but after seeing our first alpaca at a fair, we began researching and visiting ranches, then bought two pet quality males and fell in love with them.  We now have a pasture full of alpacas of many beautiful colors;  we breed to our own and other California studs and are very proud of the improvement we've seen in each generation.

We spend as much time as we can with our alpacas and enjoy introducing them to the public at fairs and other local events.  At our ranch, we do everything ourselves, including vaccinations, breedings, shearing, spinning and weaving, and are now selling alpacas, alpaca fiber and yarn.  Come to our annual spring Alpaca Open House and see demonstrations of some of the things we do with our animals and their fiber.

Use our map and directions (below map) to get to West Valley Alpacas.  Don't use MapQuest or MapBlast - they send you to the wrong place!
